"It's wonderful to see little leaders!" - ESK Parent
ESK’s Primary School Student Council is a team of student leaders and representatives, elected by their classmates, who help encourage and influence a positive school climate. Student Council representatives help bring forward and discuss student ideas, interests and concerns working in partnership with teachers and school management.
In educating young people, reaching beyond the classroom is an important aspect of ESK’s philosophy.
Last week in student cuoncil elections were held in our Primary school. Many students took to the podium to convince their peers, why they would make a great student leader.
To comply with Heath & Safety rules on school grounds, students read their speeches to the classes via Zoom.
We were so impressed by their confidence and energy, not to mention the fantastic ideas they all pitched. For example:
Ice-cream Fridays, more Recycling initiatives, an outdoor chessboard and a quiet corner in the playground for reading time.
However, only two representatives per year group could be elected .... so students put it to a vote.

Our Principal, Mr. MacDonald and Primary Head, Mr. Roberts formally congratulated each student and awarded them with their very own Studeny Council badges.
