What an incredible International Day we celebrated!

On the 17th April, the ESK campus came alive with the spirit of community and charity as students and staff joined forces to host a spectacular day of fundraising for the Children’s Polyclinic at Lefkosa Emergency Hospital.

The day kicked off with beautiful performances that showcased the diverse talents of our community. We were treated to a dazzling traditional Kazakh dance, followed by a heartwarming duet of a Greek and Turkish folk song, performed by one of our talented students and a dedicated teacher. Russian singing added a lovely cultural touch, and the performance of "Champs Élysées" transported us to France, reminding us of the beauty of global connections.

Our culinary journey took us to various corners of the world, thanks to the incredible international dishes brought in by our community members, parents, staff and students. Who could forget the authenticity of Japanese Matcha, the irresistible Chinese dumplings, and the delightful fruity British desserts? Not to mention Year 13's Turkish Coffee fortune-telling, which added a touch of mystique to the day, blending tradition with fun.  And, hats off to our amazing Year 10 business students for their fantastic entrepreneurial showcase! Each stall was a testament to the rich tapestry of cultures we are proud to have within our community.

The plaza was truly alive with smiles, cheers, and a shared sense of community.

Of course, the fun didn’t stop with food! The spirit of camaraderie shone brightly with lively games. An exciting game of teachers vs. students musical chairs and a colourful Mexican piñata added bursts of excitement to the day too.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the students, parents, and staff who helped make this event a success! Your generosity in donating gifts and food for sale truly made a difference. We also extend our gratitude to our generous raffle donors for their support. Together, we’re not just celebrating cultures—we’re making a positive difference in the lives of children in need.

As we reflect on this joyous day, let’s carry forward this spirit of community, generosity, and caring for one another. Here’s to more events that bring us together and make a lasting difference in the lives of those in need!
