Celebrating Curiosity and Creativity on World Book Day

Welcome to another lively update from our school community!

Last week, we celebrated a magical World Book Day in Primary. If you wandered through the corridors and around campus on Friday, you might have caught a glimpse of vibrant costumes, a sprinkle of mystery, and some truly eye-opening detective conversations.

Costumes, Characters, and a Clever Whodunit

From the mischievous duo Thing 1 and Thing 3 bouncing around, to the enchanting world of Hogwarts characters, plus an assortment of princesses, pirates, and Wimpy Kid himself—it was like stepping right into the pages of our favourite stories. The hallways buzzed with enthusiasm as children proudly shared their favourite genres and tales, reminding us all just how thrilling reading can be.

But this year, World Book Day came with an exciting twist: a mystery to be solved....

Imagine the surprise when Mrs Saliah’s Headteacher Award mysteriously vanished, turning her office into a crime scene! The excitement was tangible as our budding little detectives gathered information, examined evidence, and followed the clues with keen eyes and sharp minds. After an investigation filled with twists and turns, the finger pointed to an unexpected culprit: none other than the Fantastic Mr Fox! A nod to one of our beloved literary heroes and a clever way to keep the spirit of curiosity alive.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Mrs. Saliah, Mr Bhaluani, and Ms Doan, whose creativity and dedication made this event so memorable. It was more than just dressing up—it was about celebrating reading, critical thinking, and the joy of discovery.

Events like this remind us why curiosity is such a precious thing in education. When children get the chance to blend fun with learning—whether by embodying characters or solving mysteries—they engage more deeply, think critically, and feel inspired about their own futures.
