From the 4th - 11 September 2021, Year 11 student, Ersel, competed in the Nicosia Field Club tournament, bringing together boys and girls from all over the world inlcuding Cyprus, Hungary, Poland and Great Britain. Held in Cyprus, this tournament forms part of the Tennis Europe Junior Tour, where young tennis players compete as a 'dress rehearsal' for the professional circuit.
Representing Great Britain, Ersel competed in the Under -16 Boys Doubles, along side his partner, Toprak, making it through to the Quater-Finals, and in the Under-16 Boys Singles, reaching the 3rd Round.
Fact: Tennis Europe is the largest regional association of the sports governing body, International Tennis Federation.
Ersel's talent and hard-work have gained him recognition internationally, placing him in the Junior European Tennis rankings - his highest rank being 1640!
