This week, we honoured the accomplishments of 43 outstanding ESK students who received the Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Presentation Ceremony
On Friday, we were honoured to welcome the British High Commissioner for Cyprus, Mr. Michael Tatham CMG, to ESK for his inaugural visit. His Excellency congratulated each student and presented them with their Bronze and Silver level certificates. With proud parents present, it was a moment to celebrate the exceptional dedication, perseverance, and enthusiasm that all students had demonstrated during their DofE journey. Also in attendence was our school's Principal, the Board of Directors, and Co-Founders and Chair of the Board of Directors, Mrs Bilge Nevzat.

ESK Students are #WORLD READY

Throughout their DofE journey, our adventurers have evolved into responsible young adults. They have made significant contributions to their local community through extensive volunteering, pushed their limits to successfully complete the adventurous journey - an approximate 25km and 40km hike over two and three days respectively, and have enhanced their personal and teamwork skills throughout the process. The attributes fostered by the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award are acknowledged and valued globally, and we are delighted that our students appreciate this and are eager to commit themselves to meet the challenge, making a postive change in their lives and the world around them

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award serves as an Educational and Learning framework to support young people to find their purpose, place and passion in the world., This globally recognised accreditation is accessible to all individuals aged 14 to 24 across more than 120 countries. It empowers youth to cultivate essential 'soft' skills, including resilience, adaptability, creativity, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication. The development of these skills contributes to achieving positive long-term life outcomes, such as educational success, employment opportunities, and enhanced mental health and well-being.
The Award consists of three levels and four sections, designed to offer a comprehensive program of personal growth and challenge. Participants must complete all four sections at each level to earn their Award.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our committed staff and volunteers who have assisted our students during their Dofe journey. Their support and motivation have played a crucial role in enabling our students to achieve their utmost potential. Well done ESk family!
