A SUMMER OF SPORT - ESK ATHLETES

All Out, All Game, All Season. A summer of outstanding achievents both academically and in sport!


This summer, our ambitious and determined student Althletes competed locally and globally in Tennis, Swimming, Horse-riding and Sailing.


A Cross- Continental Athlete

2,465 swimmers cross the Bosphorus in unique race from Asia to Europe - and an ESK student is one of them! Year 12 student, Mert respresented North Cyprus in the 33rd Samsung Bosphorus Cross-Continental Swimming Race, organised by the Turkish Olympic Committee.

Having set a new record in the 100 and 200 meter breaststroke races, in North Cyprus Mert earnt a place at the Cross-Continental Swimming Race in Istanbul, Turkey.


The race involved a 6.5km course, beggining in Kanlıca on the Asian side of Istanbul and Finishing in Kuruçeşme Cemil Topuzlu Park on the European side. Amongst a global pool of swimmers, Mert came in 14th place for the 14 -18 age category, and 23rd in the General Category, just seconds from the winning time!





A Sweet Under-16 Success

On the Courts, avid tennis athlete, Ersel, came first in North Cyprus' 3rd Tennis Performance Tour, organised by the North Cyprus Tennis Federation (Under -16s).

Zekiye, competed in the Head & Shoulder’s Tennis Tournament, securing 2nd place in the 13+ women’s category. Noth athletes and showed true determination and skill, serving thier way to the top!


Hold Your Horses...

Year 8 student, Nerin and Year 11 student, Batuhan competed in the 5th Show Jumping Race organised by the North Cyprus Equestrian Federation. Nerin achieved 1st place in the 80cm race and 2nd place in the 70cm race for her age group, while Batuhan achieved 3rd place in the 90cm category for ages 15 -18.


We are immensely proud of our students and their weekly commitments to the sports they love. Not forgetting our ESK parents who dedicate their time (especially those early mornings!) supoorting their children to be at their best. Well Done to all!
