A New Centre for Wildlife Education

Secondary students take an educational trip to Taskent Nature Park.

Last Week, we were honoured to be invited to the opening ceremony of the new ‘Learning Classroom’ at the Cyprus Wildlife Research Institute (CWRI). Located in the Taskent Nature Park, the Institute carries out multiple preservation, rehabilitation, and local rescue projects.

Year 10 biology students attended a very informative lecture in the new classroom, followed by a tour of the grounds. Students learn about the current environmental issues surrounding Cyprus, and the impact it has made on out local wildlife.

"Environmental education has always been one of the main pillars of activities conducted by our organization. Whether we bring nature into the classroom or take students outside, learning about the environment helps them to connect with the world and is extremely important in terms of inspiring them to protect wildlife on the island." - Cyprus Wildlife Research Institute
